Review: Common Traits of Attractive People
I would be most grateful for the opportunity to attend the special lecture in Yeongcheon. Unfortunately, a scheduling conflict prevented me from attending the previous lecture. I understand one lecturer is a comedian, but I am unfamiliar with the other. I later learned the other lecturer is an actor, as he mentioned some dramas he had been in. I believe both work in the entertainment industry.

The comedian mentioned several entertainers I did not recognize, except for one. That entertainer, whom I remember from television, had been an advocate for smoking cessation before passing away from lung cancer within a year. I also learned about the cremation process, including the option of keeping a body part, such as a tooth, before cremation. The process takes approximately one hour for someone with cancer and over two hours for a larger individual. Afterward, the ashes may be scattered in a designated area or placed in a communal tank. While this efficient process is convenient, even the communal aspect might feel impersonal. I would feel saddened to have my ashes placed with others in the same tank.

I recently learned that a renowned comedian was cremated, and afterward, his wife received a bill for his remains. It’s hard to believe that a famous and presumably wealthy comedian’s wife lacked the funds to cover these costs. She went to collect his belongings, which were sadly found near a trash can among numerous urns and photographs. It was quite a disheartening scene. I didn’t fully understand the situation after I passed by, but it prompted me to reflect on the many elderly entertainers in hospitals with few visitors. It seems that regardless of wealth or fame, loneliness is a common challenge in old age. It’s a good time to consider the realities of aging and what may lie ahead.
