Review: Swan lake

This is my first experience attending a ballet performance. It was a pleasure to watch the show at such an affordable price. I had previously believed that enjoying a ballet performance in a large city would be prohibitive due to cost and distance. Furthermore, this particular show has no age restrictions, and reservations can be made online for anyone interested. I booked tickets for my entire family on the opening day. I attempted to reserve seats in the middle of the hall, as children might have difficulty seeing the stage due to their height, even with cushions.

We arrived approximately 30 minutes before the show to collect our tickets. It was an unusual experience to enter the building by passing through an area where election candidates were distributing business cards and introducing themselves. Additionally, I found it challenging to enter the building without assistance, as there was only one entrance. It felt rather peculiar to navigate through a “tunnel” of these individuals to reach the performance. It was also difficult to discern the candidates’ intentions for the community.

Although I am not familiar with ballet or the story of Swan Lake, I thoroughly enjoyed the performance. It seems that prior knowledge of the Swan Lake storyline is not essential to appreciate the show. A narrator skillfully describes each scene, providing a clear understanding of every chapter. From the very beginning of the performance, the narrator outlines the upcoming chapter’s storyline in a manner that is easily comprehensible for children.

The performers’ costumes are color-coded, making it simple to distinguish between good and bad characters. The performance runs for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. While it captivates children for the first hour, they may find it challenging to remain seated for the entire duration thereafter. This show is truly enjoyable for all family members. It is quite common to encounter friends from my children’s school there, as many parents attend with their children. Perhaps there are no age restrictions for attendance. There are not many activities available for children on weekends and holidays in this area.

I was truly impressed by the appearance of both white and black swans on stage. While I initially anticipated only a few ballet performers, I was delighted to see a substantial number of artists performing beautifully. The show is undoubtedly enjoyable for everyone, even those unfamiliar with ballet. There are no obstacles in terms of plot, acting, age restrictions, or cost. I wonder what emotions another ballet performance might evoke in me, but this particular show certainly pleased all members of my family.
