Son: July 2026(for 1y 1m): Vitiligo Treatment
97th – 4 July
It has been a considerable period since my last Saturday visit to the clinic with my children. The past few months have been particularly demanding, with my children participating in jump rope lessons every Saturday. Arriving at the clinic early in the morning, we typically experience an approximately one-hour wait before the clinic’s operating hours commence, following our train journey from YeongCheon to Dongdaegu.
Given the limited amenities and lack of open establishments around the station, it is more practical to enter the clinic and wait for less than an hour to see the doctor. Today, I observed other children receiving treatment for skin conditions. I surmise that many of the children I encountered at the clinic today are managing vitiligo. To all parents whose children are affected by vitiligo, I extend my encouragement for the journey ahead.
98th – 6 July
Following laser treatment, the vitiligo-affected area typically exhibits redness approximately one day later. Specifically, after the clinic’s laser procedure, a noticeable redness develops, becoming quite vivid, particularly on my son’s chin. Observing this redness on his skin has led me to refrain from using a home laser. Interestingly, the redness on his hand is mild, unlike that on his foot.
99th – 11 July
It is indeed a relief that I was not required to accompany the children to the clinic on this occasion, as my wife was able to take them. This time, there is noticeably less redness visible after the laser treatment compared to the previous instance. It is presumed that the brief interval of only a few days between laser treatments contributed to the redness on my son’s skin.
110th – 14 July
The weather was exceptionally hot and humid during my trip to the clinic with the children. The journey back home was quite exhausting. Due to the heat and my fatigue, I was unable to take public transportation. We opted for a taxi to return home, which proved to be a convenient choice with the children.
111th – 18 July
My son has expressed some discomfort regarding his chin area. There is a noticeable vivid red color on his chin. I cannot quite recall when he last mentioned feeling discomfort after the clinic’s laser treatment. I have applied lotion when he reported pain on his chin, and also to other areas of his face. There isn’t a significant difference in color visible on his hands and feet after laser treatment at the clinic.
112th – 24 July
The color was quite red after the most recent laser treatment. This led me to cancel the reservation prior to today. Consequently, it will take almost a week before I can revisit, allowing some time for my son’s skin to rest. Fortunately, his vitiligo is not excessively red after this particular laser treatment. It is important to find a balance between a vivid red color and a brightening white.
