Falling off an indoor bike

My kids like to play with a toy bicycle and car. They stand on the toys, moving like circus performers. It looks dangerous, but I hope a thick mat prevents injury.  Also, the toy bicycle’s and car’s wheels do not move smoothly on the mats.

The mats cover more than half the home to reduce floor noise.

My son’s doing his thing, then BAM!  A loud noise, and he’s shaking and crying, running to me.

He told me what happened.  He fell off his bike onto his toys, right off his feet, out of nowhere!  I checked him over and asked if he was okay.

He indicated his back and said, “This area hurts.” I cleaned and applied ointment to my child’s injury.

Creating a consistently safe environment for children is challenging; accidents can happen unexpectedly.

This situation requires me to put away some of my toys, including the indoor bicycle and car.
