Review: Choosing and Buying a Samsung induction

I heard that using a gas stove is bad for your health, so I used to hold my breath for a moment every time I turned it on. Last year, I thought about buying an induction cooktop for my health, but a year passed without buying one because I felt there was no need to replace a gas stove that still worked fine. However, this year I felt I couldn’t put it off anymore, so I looked into various induction brands and finally made a purchase. I checked out many different brands. I liked LG and wanted to buy one, but the high price was a major barrier.

Also, I heard that white induction cooktops are better because dirt is less noticeable than on black ones, but the white LG models were even more expensive. I also considered Cuckoo induction because the price and design seemed quite good, and I was on the verge of buying one. I even called the Cuckoo service center to ask about specific models. Based on information provided by AI, I asked Cuckoo some questions, but it turned out that all the information was actually incorrect. The decisive reason I chose Samsung was the convenience and reliability of their installation service. I heard that replacing a gas stove with an induction cooktop requires various installation tasks, and I thought Samsung would be better in terms of providing reliable installation services for such cases. Also, since I live in a place that is not a major city, I thought that buying a product from a major corporation would better guarantee the objectivity of the installation quality. So, I purchased a Samsung induction cooktop online for about 700,000 won.

The induction installer contacted me in advance to coordinate the date and time. Since the scheduled date was the day I had to take my child to a hospital in Daegu, I thought about changing it to another day, but the technician said he would wait even if I was a bit late, so we proceeded with the installation on that day.
I had read online that when switching from a gas stove to an induction cooktop, the stove unit and the lower cabinet need to be lowered slightly, and that was correct. I also saw that a certain amount of space is required under the induction unit, which incurs an installation fee to create that space, and that was also true.

The installation cost was about 80,000 KRW, and I was able to pay by card.
The installation took about an hour, and it confirmed my decision that choosing Samsung for the installation was the right choice. The technician explained everything kindly, took great care to minimize dust while cutting the kitchen countertop, and handled the cleanup meticulously. Rather than the induction setup itself, most of the time was spent adjusting the lower cabinets and cutting the countertop to fit the dimensions of the induction unit. The children watched the technician work and asked him all sorts of questions.
The Samsung technician informed me that I needed to call the city gas company to disconnect the gas line.

Fortunately, the city gas worker arrived while the induction was being installed and performed the disconnection, so there was no separate fee for that service.
I have been using the Samsung induction cooktop for about a month now and am very satisfied. I was worried about the “humming” sound some people mentioned after using a Samsung induction, but it hasn’t been a significant issue. After a month of use, the transition from a gas stove to induction has been very rewarding.
