Freckles and mole removing

It’s my son’s dermatology appointment day, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to have my facial freckles and moles removed as well.  The total cost for my freckle removal, my son’s mole removal, and mine, plus a 28,000 won post-treatment cream, is under 300,000 won. I contacted the clinic’s reservation desk to schedule the freckle and mole removal, and I took photos for the doctor to review. After seeing the doctor and nurse, they showed me the procedure and cost details in a private room. I signed some documents, which I believe were consent forms for the procedures. I waited about 40 minutes with anesthetic cream on my face (excluding my eyes). Then, I underwent laser treatment for the freckles, and then went to another room for mole removal. I was not aware that different lasers are used for freckles and moles.

Post-Laser Precautions

  • Wash your face gently with lukewarm water only for 1-2 days.
  • For about a week, please avoid irritating scrubs, bathing in a tub, and massaging the treated area. Do not use exfoliating products.
  • Scabs will naturally fall off after about 7 to 14 days, so please do not forcibly remove them with your hands.
  • Apply the regenerating cream about twice a day, in the morning and evening.
  • If it feels dry, you can do basic skincare.
  • Please make sure to use sunscreen when going out.

After 2days

I have some dark spots on my face and would appreciate information on effective laser treatments to address them. I find it difficult to consistently protect my skin from the sun to prevent further darkening.  Summer makes sun avoidance challenging, even with a facial mask. I would prefer a facial scarf that completely covers my face and neck, except for my eyes and forehead. Sunscreen has been messy and uncomfortable, sometimes staining my clothing. This is a new beauty treatment for me, and I am excited to prioritize my well-being.

After 1week

My skin appears clearer, although some other blemishes near my chin and elsewhere have emerged, making the improvement less noticeable. Perhaps prioritizing my overall health, including sufficient rest, would be beneficial.

I’ve noticed a significant reduction in freckles and some remaining moles since the treatment. I contacted the clinic to inquire about a follow-up appointment, and they indicated a wait of at least two months is necessary to continue the procedure.

I understand why many people choose to remove moles and freckles during the winter months to avoid the harsh summer sun. Complete facial coverage outdoors is necessary during the summer heat, making winter the ideal time for this procedure due to reduced sun exposure risk. I was delighted with my skin’s improvement after the first treatment. My previous perspective on cosmetic dermatology has changed; I now appreciate the benefits. Without this treatment, I wouldn’t have gained such a thorough understanding of my skin concerns, as I previously neglected its condition. I now comprehend why people seek dermatological care.

While the facial bandages are slightly uncomfortable, they are essential for protecting my skin from ultraviolet rays this summer.

The recovery band somewhat hampered my assessment of the mole and freckle treatment outcomes, as it partially concealed the changes in my skin. While the freckle treatment marks have lessened, the mole removal scars are not yet fully healed, and a few moles remain. I believe it would be wise to remove the recovery bands soon, as I am finding it challenging to identify all the treated areas. The bands have offered excellent protection from ultraviolet radiation; however, I continue to wear a facial scarf, sunglasses, and a hat for added sun protection.

Complete coverage between my eye and ear might not be entirely feasible. I do not currently intend to use sunscreen after removing the bands. I find facial coverings more convenient than sunscreen, as sunscreen can be messy and difficult to clean from my clothing and face. The long-term efficacy of these coverings is still undetermined, but I expect a better understanding in a few months.

After 4weeks

I believe that I no longer need to wear the recovery band on my face. The time has elapsed, and I would prefer not to use it any longer. While I had hoped for considerable and favorable improvements, they have not fully manifested. Although I was anticipating the complete fading of my freckles, I have recently noticed their return. I had never really focused on freckles or moles, whether on myself or others, but lately, I find myself paying a great deal of attention to the facial conditions of those around me.

This is certainly a hindrance when trying to evaluate my own moles or skin condition. I had previously accepted my skin concerns without much thought, but now, the situation is quite different. Moreover, I was hoping to receive feedback regarding the improvement in my skin’s appearance after the mole and freckle removal, but no one seems to be focused on my facial concerns, nor am I. Perhaps my expectations for the initial skincare treatment in dermatology were overly optimistic.
