A course for child and me

There was a lecture designed for fathers and their children. I was thrilled to have a fun time with my child, as this was our first lecture together. We hurried to join the class, and he was very excited to spend time with me.

However, the class wasn’t engaging for most of the time, except for the final 30 minutes when we participated in a hands-on activity that brightened the mood. My child and I focused only during that craft session. I can’t recall much of the lecturer’s main points, but I do remember a discussion about airplane safety procedures: in an emergency, parents should put on their own oxygen masks before assisting their children. The reasoning is that to care for your child, you must first take care of yourself; if you are incapacitated, you cannot help them. To be a good parent and person, I must prioritize my own well-being.  The program was a nice opportunity to spend time with my child, but it lacked activities to keep young children engaged.

I inquired about his class, and was pleasantly surprised to find he enjoyed himself immensely, even though he couldn’t answer any questions. Spending that time with him made me happy; he didn’t seem concerned about the class itself. Thank you.
