Swimming pool

This is my first time swimming at the Yeongcheon pool, which I believe is the only public swimming facility here. It’s government-run and seems to be used for swimming competitions. I paid at the counter instead of using the kiosk machine, and then proceeded to the pool area after going through a hallway with treadmills.

The recently remodeled changing room is impeccably clean. The changing room and shower area are conveniently connected. I discovered a handy dryer for swimsuits near the sink, a thoughtful amenity that allows for a quick and efficient drying process, preventing the need to wear wet clothing. A timer with a safety lock prevents overuse.

The swimming pool has several lanes, but only one is open for recreational swimming; the others are reserved for classes or professional use. There’s also a shallower area for children. As I haven’t swum in years, I find even a single lap quite challenging.

I’m returning to enjoy the shower and sauna, a treat I’ve been looking forward to for quite some time. There’s a cafe in the waiting area and a restaurant upstairs that serves lunch. I plan to have lunch after my swim. The price for swimming, showering, and sauna use is quite reasonable.
